It just keeps getting better. We know there was collusion between Trump campaign officials and the Russian Government. The more they deny, the worse it will be for them, but they just can’t seem to help themselves.
New revelations from yesterday, revealed by the New York Times, shine a light on a specific meeting between Donald Trump Jr., Paul Manafort (at the time of the meeting, he was the campaign chairman), and Jared Kushner. In emails released by Jr., he was told that a Russian government official had damaging information about Hillary Clinton that they wanted to share with the Trump campaign. That’s so illegal on it’s face that Jr. should have said no and reported the contact to the FBI.
Here is the direct quote from the email, sent by Rob Goldstone (Goldstone is a former British tabloid journalist, who now represents a Russian musician, Emin Agalarov, whose father Aras, is a real estate tycoon in Russia with ties to Putin).
The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his (Emin’s) father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father. This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump – helped along by Aras and Emin.
Jr took the meeting. If that’s not collusion with a foreign adversary, I don’t know what is. He’s trying to say that the contact actually didn’t have any damaging information and just wanted to take about the Magnitsky Act, which punished human rights abusers in Russia. Jr. was disappointed when this lawyer didn’t have the information he was seeking. He openly admitted that. WTF? Regardless, discussing ending sanctions and reversing the Magnitsky Act in June 2016 (when this meeting took place), before Trump was even the republican nominee is also illegal and goes against the Logan Act. What also is pretty suspicious, is that after this meeting is when the Russian’s weaponized their hacking and dumped the DNC and Podesta emails.
I mean seriously? How are people still defending this administration. Kushner and Manafort have repeatedly revised their security clearance forms. Every time a new story comes out about a new contact, they send in a new form. Seems they conveniently forget a lot of fucking meetings with the Russians.
And lets not forget all the flat out denials from the Trump camp (Trump, his kids, Kellyanne Conway, Manafort, Steve Bannon, Sean Spicer, Mike Pence, Jeff Sessions, Reince Preibus, etc.) that there had ever been any meetings at all. Then, when evidence comes out that there were in fact meetings, they revised their stories to ‘well, there were meetings but no campaign conversations took place’. That was blown out of the water with the Flynn scandal, so the story became ‘well, there was campaign talk, but it wasn’t collusion and it wasn’t illegal.’ Now that it’s clearly in the illegal category, they are trying to spin it as ‘opposition research’.
How anyone with an ounce of intelligence still stands behind the Trumps and their sycophants is beyond the pale. The smoke is so dark and billowing that if you can’t see the fire now, you’re gonna burn in the flames.
